Frequently Asked Questions
What is the easiest way to get to and from your wedding venue?
Take exit 101 off of I-90 onto Thorp Hwy, then take a right onto Thorp Road. Once you reach Cove road, take a right until you reach Manastash road. From there take the last right into Manastash road and follow it until you reach the nursery!
Is there parking available near your wedding venue?
Yes! Parking is availible out front and behind the wedding reception area. Parking lots, and how to access them, will be clearly labeled when you arrive at the Brickhouse gardens.
Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?
This is an outdoor wedding! Be prepared for the mid-summer heat in central Washington. Anticipate a hot, bright, and sunny day - but do check the weather closer to the wedding date to get a better idea if smoke/overcast climates are going to be encountered.
What is the dress-code for the reception and ceremony?
Dress code is Summer Formal! We are excited to see you all in your Saturday’s best, and want to make sure summer weather is considered so everyone can be comfortable- it can get quite hot in Ellensburg in August.
What are the color themes for the bridal party and groomsmen?
Our colors are navy blue with gold accents.
Have you reserved blocks of rooms at one or more hotels?
Hotel blocks are currently in the works! We will inform all guests regarding lodging accommodations and options once the details are finalized. Information will be posted here on the website, and be clearly listed on all wedding invitations.
Will there be a shuttle to and/or from the hotel(s)?
Once hotel blocks and reservation information has been finalized we will post travel accommodations here as well.
Am I allowed to bring a plus one?
If you receive an invitation which indicates that you may bring a +1, then yes! If it is not stated on the invitation (if it’s just your name only) then we will not accept a plus one - capacity space for the venue is limited, therefore, we want to make we can host as many friends, family, and relatives without going over capacity.
Am I allowed to bring my children?
Although we love your little ones, our wedding will be an adult-only celebration.
What type of food will be served at your wedding?
We are looking to have local restaurants of Ellensburg cater our wedding. Every guest will be provided dinner and drinks, snacks will also be provided throughout the night.
Will there be an open bar?
There will be wine, beer, and spirits served at our wedding. Red, white, and sparkling wine from the Shellhammer’s own homemade wine selection will be availible. In terms of hard alcohol, Old fashions and Hugo Spritzs (his and her’s drinks) and will be served from arrival to the reception dinner - hard alcohol will be cut off after dinner to limit potential for overindulgence and to keep the venue clean; wine, beer, and seltzers will continue to be served until the end of the event. Lastly, there will be several non-alcoholic options available the entire event.
Should we bring/send a wedding gift?
There is no expectation or pressure to provide a physical gift the day of the ceremony. All we ask is for those invited to show up ready to celebrate and dance! Should you wish to buy a gift off the registry to support the newly weds you are more than welcome to - just visit the registry tab on the website, which will be open until the end of the year. Any and all gifts are greatly appreciated, thank you!
What type of food will be served at your wedding?
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
